The chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Senator representing Kwara Central, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has yet again facilitated medical equipment worth millions of Naira and state-of-the-art-equipped ambulance bus to the Federal Neuropsychiatry Hospital, Budo-Egba, Asa Local Government Area, Kwara State.
The items and the medical bus facilitated as part of the year 2022 Capital Projects of the lawmaker were delivered and handed over on Wednesday, 1st of March, 2023 to the management of the institution by the supervising team from the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja as part of the measures to give the newly established Health Centre a sure-footing in its quest to provide quality medical services to the people of Kwara State and beyond.
Oloriegbe while speaking through his media aide, Bolaji Aladie, expressed that his continuous interventions to the health facility aim towards giving it the necessary push to be a world-class centre for quality medical service delivery, describing the hospital as a baby that deserves every support to fulfil its potentials.
“Our enduring vision of bringing quality health care services — mental health and general wellness — closer to the people of my constituency and beyond gave birth to the establishment of this hospital. It is thus a baby that deserves every support we can give it to fulfil its potential.
“This institution is serving the whole of the North-Central Geo-political zone. As such, we have to ensure that the services available to the people who will be patronising it are top-notch and competitive with other similar institutions in other parts of the country. Before the end of my tenure, we are going to do more to achieve our vision.”
While reacting in appreciation of the lawmaker’s gesture, the Acting Medical Director of the health facility, Prof. Baba Issa Awoye on behalf of the management noted that the medical tools and the ambulance are in good condition, stating that the management of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Budo-Egba is thankful to Oloriegbe for his unceasing interventions towards the smooth running of the institution.
“The provision of the medical items and the ambulance like other previous interventions from our Senator will go a long way in stimulating the smooth operation of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital. We are grateful to him for his continuous support of us.”
Some of the items handed over are Hospital Beds, mattresses, examination couches, suction machines, sterilizers, defibrillators, patient monitors, electroconvulsive therapy machines, delivery couches, electroencephalography machines, stretchers, Pulse Oximeter, Diagnostic Sets, and Screens.
Others include but are not limited to, Nebulizer, refrigerators, stethoscopes and a host of others.
The team lead from the supervising agency, FMC, Jabi, Abuja, Balikis Ahidjo expressed satisfaction with the items delivered and lauded Oloriegbe for his outstanding services to the Nigerian health sector.
