Kwara State Policemen have arrested two suspected kidnappers, 9 cultists in Kwara State.

According to Ajayi Okasanmi, the spokesperson of the command said, the suspects Mustapha Afolabi (42) and Rafiu Ganiyu (45) were arrested along Ganmo/Omu-Aran road in Kwara
on top of a motorbike. He further said “when the search was conducted on them, three locally made pistols and four locally made cut to size guns were found on them.

He further said that “On interrogation, the suspects could not give satisfactory account of themselves, fueling the suspicion that they were on a kidnapping mission.”

Similarly, Okasanmi added that “while on patrol along Malete area, acting on an actionable intelligence that a group of suspected cultists had assembled at a location in Malete, a team of operatives attached to the command swooped on the location and nine suspects were arrested.

“In their statements, they confessed to being internet fraudsters/scammers. Some exotic cars, phones with laptops were recovered from them. Suspects in both cases will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.”
