Yesterday dated April 22nd, 2022. Tony Oyeyiola held a press conference at Covenant Suites, Fate Road, Ilorin, Kwara State. This was in commemoration of his 44th birthday, which he tagged: #44for44
“Let me begin by appreciating God my maker for making this a reality. Thank you, my Redeemer, for everything. I also want to profoundly appreciate my family and friends for their massive support of this initiative. I cannot thank you all enough”, he started his statement.
He made mention of his late parent, persons of Late Mr. and Mrs. Raphael & Mary Oyeyiola, his birthplace, and how he got the inspiration, part of which is his late father’s influence that made him loves reading book to embark on this kind of project on a book outreach.
He intensified well on the importance of books in every human society, making himself a living testimony of what books have impacted in him and would love to see in others. Especially, for the younger generation, with the support of his family and friends, he will be donating books to forty-four public schools and libraries in Kwara State. Hence the tag – #44for44.
“Over 600 books will be donated to selected forty-four public schools and libraries across the 16 local governments of Kwara State. Some of these books are my publications and other books written by some other great authors”, he stated.
He and his team made the selection of schools beneficiaries in such a way that at least two public schools in each local government will be reached out to. Also, all public libraries in Kwara state.

“Mount Carmel College, Oloje, Ilorin (my alma mata)”
“Ayaki Grammar School, Okerimi-Oro (my hometown school)”, he said.
Before the conclusion of his press briefing, he clarified his genuine intent as regards the project he embarked on that it has no affiliations with politics but rather a genuine interest to make a positive impact.
“let me make this important declaration. After careful consideration and introspection, I hereby declare that I am not running for political office. It is imperative to note that this initiative is not for politics. It is purely borne out of the need to live a life of impact, which I have subscribed to, in my little way. This has been my mantra and will continue to for the rest of my life”, he stressed.
“Let us continue to live a life of positive impact within our family, society, and sphere of influence generally”, he concluded.
