The Young Progressives Party (YPP) Governorship Candidate in Kwara State, Waziri Yakubu Gobir has bagged Personality of the Year Award for his humanitarian gesture.

The Prudentwatch Online News conferred the award on Alhaji Yakubu Gobir on Friday during the First Year anniversary of the organization held at NUJ Press Centre, Ilorin.

Gobir who was represented by his running mate, Bolujoko George dedicated the award to the less privileged in the society.

He appreciated the organization for finding him worthy of the award.

”I am pleased and honoured with this award. I appreciate you for finding me worthy. Over the past 5 years, Gobir has prioritised social security projects for the development of Kwarans. The project implemented through the Gobir Organization Foundation under Alaanu Mekunnu program has reached over 40,000 people through SMEs support and cash disbursement to the less privileged.

He said: “YPP is committed to changing the fortune of Kwara and lifting Kwarans out of poverty through our tested and trusted schemes,”

Hon. Bolujoko George noted the YPP Governorship Candidate as a Social Entrepreneur has used his personal resources to impact lives of people positively and electing as Governor in Kwara come 2023 would herald massive transformation to the State.

According to organisers of the event, the award is the highest recognition for the most outstanding personality that pushed the boundaries of excellence and contributed to the growth of the society.

The Publisher of Prudentwatch, Lukman Abdulquadri said Gobir emerged Personality of the Year in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of the society through social investment program.
