Hon. Samson Ilufoye, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Engagement for Kwara South, has expressed solidarity with the people of Oke-Ode, Kwara South, and Kwara State at large in the wake of recent security challenges that have unsettled communities in the region.
In a message released on Monday, Ilufoye conveyed his sympathy to affected families and communities, assuring them that they are not alone in these trying times. He acknowledged the fear and uncertainty caused by recent security threats but urged residents to remain hopeful and resilient.
“My heart goes to you all during these challenging times. The recent security-related threats in Kwara State have undoubtedly caused fear and uncertainty. I want you to understand that you are not alone, and my thoughts are with you and your loved ones,” he said.
The governor’s aide commended the tireless efforts of security agencies as well as the leadership of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for their dedication to safeguarding lives and property. He described the Governor’s commitment as “truly appreciated.”
However, Ilufoye expressed dismay at what he described as the antics of opportunistic politicians attempting to exploit the situation for political gain. “It is unacceptable that some individuals would use the struggles of our people as a means to score cheap political points. We must not let their selfish interests divide us or undermine our resilience,” he warned.
He called on residents of Kwara State not to lose hope, noting that their courage and unity are vital in overcoming adversity. “Your strength and courage in the face of adversity are a testament to the indomitable spirit of our people. We will get through this together, and I have no doubt that our state will emerge stronger and more united than ever,” Ilufoye added.
