Yahaya Seriki Foundation extends Cash Benefits to 1,800 Individuals in Kwara

In a groundbreaking economic relief initiative, the Yahaya Seriki Foundation disbursed N250 million in cash to 1,800 people in Kwara State, aiming to bolster businesses following the removal of the fuel subsidy. The Banquet Hall in Ilorin witnessed the philanthropic event on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Renowned for its dedication to socio-economic initiatives, the foundation, led by Ambassador Yahaya Seriki, an APC stalwart and Chairman of KURSI Investment Limited, seeks to make a positive impact on the lives of state residents. Seriki, born into the mining industry and now leading KURSI, recounted his journey to success during the event, emphasizing the importance of determination and perseverance.

Addressing Nigerian youths, especially those in Kwara, Seriki encouraged consistency in endeavors and expressed gratitude for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s inclusive approach in his cabinet, highlighting a historic development for Kwara State.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, speaking at the event, urged beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously. He lauded Yahaya Seriki’s philanthropy, foreseeing a substantial reduction in poverty and a boost in businesses across the state.

Beneficiaries, like Mr. Femi, expressed unexpected gratitude for the opportunity provided by the foundation. Femi, who received N500,000, shared how he registered through an internet link and emphasized the transformative impact on his life.

Halimat Seriki, another beneficiary, received N500,000, expressing the timely nature of the fund. She declared, “I’m going to Feolu straight to stock my shop with medicines.”

The empowerment initiative unfolded in three phases: a N50 million cheque was presented to the Eni Dongari community, where KURSI company mines; N500,000 cheques were distributed to the second batch, and the third batch received N50,000 transfers.

The event drew royal fathers and dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Yakub Danladi, Member of the Federal House of Assembly, Muktar Tolani Shagaya, former Minister of Sport, Bolaji Abdullah, Sherif Shagaya, Khadijatu Ba, and others.
