The Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission Imo State, Prof. Uba Nnabue has called on LGA Chairmen and other stakeholders to support the 2025 Nigeria Mini Demographic and Health Survey going on in Imo State.
The Commissioner made the call during an advocacy visit to the Executive Chairman of Owerri North L.G.A, in Imo state on Friday.
Nnabue explained the gains of the NMDHS in generating key health indicators in child nutrition, immunization, HPV awareness, HIV/AIDS, family planning, and other health indicators in the state and country.
The Federal Commissioner who later received brief thee Imo Team supervisor, Mr. Bruno Okere, equally encouraged the team to ensure data quality and respect the cultural sensibilities of their host communities while conducting the survey.
Recieving the Federal Commissioner and his team, the Executive Chairman of Owerri West Council Area, Hon. Lucky Abaraonye assured that the Commission has a special place in all the activities of the local government and thus, will be given maximum support in all aspects of the survey in the two clusters of the LGA.
The Chairman, led the HFC and the entire team to the palace of HRH Eze Sir Boniface Iheanacho, The Traditional Ruler of Obibi Uratta who gave his fatherly blessings and assured of maximum security, cooperation and success of the survey in community.
The State Director, Mrs Josephine Ofurum, Heads of Department of NPC Imo state, accompanied the Federal Commissioner to the remarkable advocacy visits.
Also present were the President General, the youth leader, and other key stakeholders of Obibi Uratta community, the DAGS of LGA, he Secretary to the LGA, and security heads.
