I am excited to on behalf of the All Progressive Youth Forum (APYF) and Progressive Nation Initiative (PNI) address the Press, Members of our great and noble organizations, Kwarans and Nigerians at large on the successful organization of the maiden edition of APC’s Intra-party Pre-primary Electoral Debate which took place from Tuesday 17th May, 2022 – Monday 23rd May, 2022 with Aspirants contesting for Houses of Assembly and National Assembly positions on the platform of the APC physically and virtually participating in the history making program.

The Electoral Debate which was widely covered by mainstream media created a veritable platform for Aspirants within the APC in Kwara State to share their plans and blueprints while interacting with one another for Kwarans to effectively decide which Aspirants reflect the solutions they need to bring succor to their respective Constituencies.

The objectives the debate achieved included:

– Providing a platform for Aspirants across APC to unveil their blueprint to their Constituents and respond to pertinent questions bordering on the growth and development of their Communities.

– Creating a conducive environment for exchange of ideas between young people across Kwara state through the window of a highly engaging intellectual contest which would clearly distinguished one Aspirant from another and has created room for a more informed choice for APC through the Primaries and the Electorate at the general elections.

– Exposure of participants to real time experiences of the Electorate in a debate forum and tested their preparedness to shoulder the responsibility of representing their people at such levels.

– Enlisting APC, Kwara state among the league of Political parties in Nigeria that have adopted Electoral debates for leveraging exposure of her Political class to robust discuss on what they have to offer if elected to represent the people. We have set the pace in Kwara State as the APC across Nigeria has never organized an Electoral Debate before now.

– Exposure of the gaps that exist within the Political system and Ideologies of Aspirants with respect to their blueprints and abilities to engage National discuss in a bid to make recommendations to Political parties (APC) and the Public on what to look out for in the choice of Candidates ahead of Elections.

– The introduction of the Debate series also increased awareness on Accountability within the Electoral System as Aspirants will now be held accountable for their personal comments and submissions at the debate as they technically interfaced with the people while engaging themselves.

We deeply appreciate the Aspirants who answered this clarion call of Kwarans to be accountable for their plans and aspirations to lead them. We remain confident that your participation in the debate will make all the difference in the Primary elections coming up this weekend.

We call on His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the APC State Executives led by Prince Sunday Fagbemi to critically study the report of this all important exercise put together by the APYF in conjunction with PNI and establish congruence between other recommendations sampled to decide on a template that would ensure the APC selects the best Candidates to become her flagbearers at the forth coming Primaries.

Thereafter, the press conference has been submitted to the presidential villa and party secretariat for resolutions and recommendations to strategic stakeholders within our great party.

Lastly, All Progressive Congress (APC) and Progressive Nation Initiative (PNI) remain committed to working for the unity and shared pthe rogress of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State.
