The Akogun Abdulrasheed Campaign Organization has dismissed allegations made by Hon. Aliyu Rasaq Opeyemi Apaguntan (RAAF) regarding the outcome of the APC House of Assembly primary election for Share/Oke-Ode Constituency, describing the claims as false, misleading and unfounded.
In a statement issued by the Akogun Abdulrasheed Media Team, the campaign clarified that neither Akogun Abdulrasheed nor any member of his team had at any time declared results of the primary election.
The organization stated that it fully recognizes that only the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has the constitutional authority to officially announce the outcome of the primary election.
According to the statement, independently verified ward results from the field clearly indicated that Akogun Abdulrasheed secured victory with a wide margin, but stressed that the aspirant has remained patient and respectful of party processes pending the official declaration by the appropriate authorities.
The campaign further described Akogun Abdulrasheed as a loyal party member who believes strongly in the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and remains committed to due process and internal democracy within the APC.
The organization urged Hon. Apaguntan and his supporters to avoid actions capable of creating division within the party, emphasizing the need for sportsmanship and unity among all aspirants and party stakeholders.
“Politics should not be treated as a do-or-die affair. Every aspirant must learn to accept the outcome of party processes in good faith and avoid unnecessary tension capable of causing disaffection within the APC family,” the statement read.
The campaign also called on party members and supporters to remain calm, united and focused as they await the official announcement of the primary election results.
It reaffirmed confidence in the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the APC leadership to ensure fairness, justice and transparency in handling the outcome of the primary election.
The statement urged members of the public to disregard what it described as malicious allegations against Akogun Abdulrasheed, insisting that the campaign has remained issue-based, peaceful and loyal to the party at all times.
