A.A Youth Wing Hosts Leadership Fitness Retreat to Promote Wellness, Youth Engagement in Kwara

Wednesday, 31st of December, 2025, the A.A Youth Wing organized the Leadership Fitness Retreat in Ilorin, bringing together youths and key government officials to promote physical wellness, leadership development, and social interaction among young people across Kwara State.

The retreat featured a blend of fitness activities, recreational games, and engagement sessions designed to encourage healthy living while fostering unity and leadership consciousness among participants.

Activities at the retreat included yoga, spa sessions, cultural dance displays, and various indoor and outdoor games such as Ludo, Chess, Scrabble, Draft, Table Tennis, Snooker, Handball, Aerobics, Football, and Horse Racing. These activities provided participants with opportunities for relaxation, teamwork, and physical exercise.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of cash prizes to winners in different games. A 7-year-old participant, Olojoku Bilal, stood out after emerging victorious against older contestants, drawing applause from the audience.

Speaking at the event, the convener, Amb. Shola Ilyas Akanbi, said the retreat was organized to strengthen unity among youths and encourage positive leadership. He commended the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, noting that the initiative aligns with the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive development.

Participants described the retreat as impactful, noting that it provided a platform for networking, recreation, and personal development.

Among dignitaries present were Alh. S.A. Salaudeen, Counsellor to the Kwara State Government; Sheu Ndanusa Usman, Commissioner for Youth Development; the Commissioner for Transport; the Commissioner for Agriculture; Alh. Rasaq Jiddah, Special Adviser on Special Duties; Hon. Dr. Lanre Da-Rosa; Hon. Funsho Abdullahi, Chief of Staff to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development; Alh. Danmagoro; and Alh. Olasheu, among others.
