Earlier Yesterday, stakeholders of the APC Party in the Moro Local Government area held a sensitization meeting in preparation for the APC party primaries scheduled to be held tomorrow in each ward of Moro Local Government.

The party primary election is in preparation for the upcoming Kwara State Local Government election, scheduled for September 21st, 2024. The meeting took place at Bricklayers Hall, opposite SDA Primary School, Shao, Moro LG.

The party leader, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Iliasu, who spearheaded the meeting, conveyed in an interview with the press that the meeting was organized to finalize arrangements for the local government council election. He mentioned that the preparations began two to three months ago when the governor announced the election, which is scheduled for September 21st, 2024.

“As the saying goes, ‘what is worth doing is worth doing well.’ This is why we started our convention early to ensure we follow the rules of the game and avoid any lapses in the electioneering process. We have aspirants from various wards in the local government, particularly for the council position. After extensive consultations, we are now ready to reveal the people’s choice to all involved. We held a general meeting last Wednesday in Oloru, where we decided to hold today’s stakeholders’ meeting,” he stated.

“The number of people here today is just a tenth of what we had at the general meeting in Oloru six days ago. Numerous meetings have taken place to ensure smooth primaries. We have introduced the consensual councillorship aspirant, as well as the consensual chairman and vice-chairperson aspirants for tomorrow’s primaries. I believe the party stakeholders will take it from here. We hope to emerge with candidates who will continue to uphold the good work that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is doing, as the Governor is working tirelessly for the state.”

The consensual chairmanship aspirant, Engineer Taoheed Daud Toyin of the Babadudu ward, revealed in an interview with a Prudent Watch correspondent his plans for the people of Moro Local Government. His blueprint includes ensuring good and smooth primary healthcare facilities, facilitating infrastructural development, enhancing grassroots politics, and implementing youth development programs, among others.

Two elders from each of the Babadudu and Maigida wards of Moro Local Government expressed their appreciation to the convention committee for selecting the consensual candidate from their ward.
