Ahead of the 2024 Kwara State Local Government Chairmanship and Councillors election scheduled for September 21, a delegation of the entire Igbaja Community gathered to accompany Hon. Femi Yusuf, the chairmanship Candidate for Ifelodun Local Government, and the councillorship Candidate for Igbaja Ward 1, Abdullahi Fatimoh, on a homage visit to Alhaji (Chief) (Dr) AbdulRaheem Amoo Oladimeji (OFR), the Asiwaju of Igbomina Land, Arogundade of Lagos.
The delegation, led by Elder Oyin Zubair, included Community Elders, APC party members and Well-wishers. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the candidates, who emerged victorious in the APC local government primaries, to the Asiwaju of Igbomina Land, and to seek his blessings ahead of the incoming Local Government Election come September 21st.
During the visit, Alhaji Oladimeji expressed his delight with the candidates presented to him. He extended his appreciation to Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for recognizing the significance of Igbaja by supporting their candidacy. He acknowledged the governor’s efforts in ensuring that competent individuals from Igbaja are given opportunities to serve in leadership positions.
In his remarks, Alhaji Oladimeji assured the governor and the gathered community members of his full support for the candidates. He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort to ensure the success of the APC in the upcoming elections. “The entire Ifelodun people will vote massively for the APC candidates and ensure these candidates emerge victorious in the coming election,” he stated confidently.
Hon. Femi Yusuf, addressing the community, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support and trust placed in him and his fellow candidate, Abdullahi Fatimoh. He pledged to work diligently and uphold the values and interests of the Igbaja community and Ifelodun Local Government.
Elder Oyin Zubair, on behalf of the delegation, thanked Alhaji Oladimeji for his warm reception and support. He reiterated the community’s commitment to the APC and its candidates, emphasizing the importance of a strong and united front in the upcoming elections.
The visit concluded with prayers and blessings from the Asiwaju of Igbomina Land for the success of the candidates and the well-being of the community.
