The Senator representing Kwara Central, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, enjoining them to remain consistent in their spiritual engagements with almighty Allah.

The lawmaker in a statement released through his media aide stressed the need to continue to imbibe the values of love, loyalty, tolerance and sacrifice which he said are the hallmarks of the sacred season being celebrated.

“I felicitate with fellow Muslim brothers and sisters as we celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Kabir. I enjoin us to reinforce our commitment to the fundamental tenets of Islam that place a premium on human life, tolerance and love for one another.

“This is a period of celebration and spiritual engagement with Allah (SWT). It is therefore greatly important that we allow the lessons of faith, obedience and sacrifice which form the essence of the season of celebration to influence our conduct in both private and public life.

“It is imperative for us to use the significance of the season to pray for ourselves, family, and most importantly, for the sustenance of peace and restoration of normalcy to the areas bedevilled by the scourge of insecurity across our nation.”

While emphasizing the significance of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Festival scheduled to hold on the following day of the Eid celebration, the Senator averred that the practice of such culture and custom is pivotal to the sustenance of peace and unity in the Emirate city of Ilorin.

“I want to applaud the Ilorin Emirate Traditional Council under the leadership of our father, His Royal Highness, Alh Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR) as well as the organisers of the Durbar festival for keeping hope alive and organising our people to come together in a gracious atmosphere at the forecourt of our ancestral Emir’s Palace. We have to be proud of our cultural heritage, we must associate with ourselves, think together, and encourage our youths to attach importance to our customs and cultural heritage. It is through a gathering of this nature that we can build a united and stronger society.”

The lawmaker also thanked the constituents for their unceasing support in the discharge of his duties, assuring them of his unswerving commitment to justifying their confidence in him through impactful representation.
