On Wednesday 31st, 2025, at the Ifelodun Local Government Area, Philanthropist and thought leader, Hon. Gbenga Oyekunle Power has organized a security and festive relief programme, organised for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency as part of efforts to support party faithful during the festive period and ease the impact of recent security challenges in the area.

The intervention, targeted strictly at APC members in Ifelodun Local Government, was organised in response to the prevailing security situation which has affected daily economic and social activities in several communities. The relief packages were presented to the local government party officers and APC ward chairmen, who received the items on behalf of party members across the wards.

Speaking during the programme, the Chairman of APC in Ifelodun Local Government, Arc. Abubakar Lukman, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Gbenga Power for remembering party members at a critical time. He described the gesture as timely and reassuring, noting that it was encouraging to see a party stakeholder who is not currently holding any government position making such meaningful contributions to the welfare of party members. According to him, the goodwill gesture has been well noted by APC members across the local government and would remain registered in the minds of party faithful.

Representing Hon. Gbenga Power at the event, Hon. Olarewaju Lateef apologised on his behalf for his absence, explaining that Hon. Gbenga was unavoidably engaged elsewhere. He conveyed Hon. Gbenga’s appreciation to APC members in Ifelodun for their continued loyalty and support, adding that the relief items were accompanied by cash incentives to support transportation for ward chairmen who would ensure effective distribution to their respective wards.

Also speaking, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Jimoh, who represented the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Femi Yusuf, commended Hon. Gbenga Power for his consistent contributions to the party and grassroots development. He described the intervention as a clear demonstration of commitment to party unity and welfare, expressing optimism that Ifelodun Local Government would continue to be fairly considered in future political opportunities, particularly at the federal level.

In her remarks, the APC Woman Leader in Ifelodun Local Government, Mrs. Taofiqat also thanked Hon. Gbenga Power for the support, describing the relief as a morale booster for women and families within the party, especially during the festive season.

The event concluded with the formal handover of the relief items to the APC ward chairmen and local government party officers, who pledged to ensure equitable distribution across the wards, while party members commended the initiative as a strong show of solidarity and commitment to the wellbeing of APC members in Ifelodun Local Government.
