In a heartwarming gesture aimed at uplifting the vulnerable and supporting the administration of His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, Hon. Sulaiman Lekan Gadaff, through the Gadaff Future Care Foundation, distributed 5,000kg of potatoes to aged women across several villages in Asa Local Government Area. This initiative, which took place today, underscores Hon. Gadaff’s deep commitment to improving the livelihoods of the elderly, particularly women, who are often the backbone of their families and communities.

The distribution program, coordinated by the Director General of the Gadaff Future Care Foundation, Mariam Kehinde Obalana, was designed to provide immediate relief to the elderly women, many of whom face economic hardships. As part of the program, 200 beneficiaries were selected from various villages in Asa, each receiving 25kg of potatoes as well as cash support. The initiative is part of Hon. Gadaff’s broader mission to align with Governor Abdulrahman’s vision of improving the quality of life for the rural population and ensuring that no segment of the community is left behind.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Gadaff emphasized that the program is not just about food distribution, but about reinforcing the state government’s commitment to inclusive development. He noted that Governor Abdulrahman’s administration has made significant strides in areas such as agriculture, health, education, and economic empowerment, and this initiative is a direct reflection of that drive.

“As we hand over these bags of potatoes and cash gifts to our mothers and grandmothers today, it is a reminder that we are building a community where no one is forgotten, no matter their age or circumstance. We are all in this together, and it is our duty to support Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq’s efforts in ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of our state,” Hon. Gadaff said.

He also praised Governor Abdulrahman for his visionary leadership, especially in the area of agriculture, where programs such as KwaraLEARN have been designed to boost productivity, provide modern equipment, and offer training to farmers. These efforts, Hon. Gadaff noted, are transforming lives and ensuring that Kwara State remains a leader in agricultural innovation.

The Gadaff Future Care Foundation continues to play a vital role in these community upliftment programs. Through the hard work and dedication of its Director General, Mariam Kehinde Obalana, the Foundation has been able to organize various outreach projects aimed at supporting those in need, including vulnerable women, children, and the elderly.

The beneficiaries of the program could not hide their joy and gratitude. Several of them shared heartfelt messages of thanks for both Hon. Gadaff and Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for the timely intervention.

Mama Zainab Abdul, a 68-year-old resident of Budo-Egba Village, also shared her excitement:
“I am overwhelmed with joy. This is a wonderful initiative that has brought hope to us. The cash will help me solve some pressing needs, and the potatoes will feed my family. I am grateful to everyone involved in this.”

Another beneficiary, Hajia Aishat Yusuf, from Aboto Village, expressed her gratitude, saying:
“It is not easy for people like us to receive this kind of support, but today, we are blessed. I want to thank Hon. Gadaff and our governor for their love and care for the people, especially the aged. This will go a long way in helping us.”

This initiative aligns with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which has focused on agriculture, education, health, and economic empowerment as key pillars of development. In agriculture, the governor’s administration has introduced several programs to boost productivity and ensure food security for the state. His KwaraLEARN program, in particular, is transforming farming practices by providing farmers with access to modern equipment, training, and mechanization, all of which contribute to the state’s overall development.

Hon. Gadaff has been a staunch supporter of the governor’s efforts and has made it a priority to ensure that these benefits reach the most vulnerable members of society. Through the Gadaff Future Care Foundation, he has championed numerous initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty, providing economic empowerment, and promoting rural development.

As the program came to a close, Hon. Gadaff reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that such initiatives continue to touch the lives of those in need. He called on other well-meaning individuals and organizations to join hands in supporting the work of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, whose leadership has continued to inspire hope and deliver real benefits to the people of Kwara State.

The Gadaff Future Care Foundation remains dedicated to its mission of empowering the vulnerable and providing necessary interventions that improve lives and strengthen communities. As the foundation continues its work, it hopes to collaborate with other stakeholders to achieve even greater impact in the coming years.
