Yesterday, at the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development in Ilorin, the Jibore Impeccable Foundation was presented with the Excellent Award by the National Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities – Kwara State Chapter (NAPWD), in recognition of its work in championing empowerment, development and advocacy for persons with disabilities in Kwara State.

In her acceptance remarks, Mrs Joy Iyabo Bolarin expressed heartfelt gratitude: “I feel so good because being honoured by my people; this is the first time I’m receiving an award from my own disability community and I’m so happy for this.

She added a message for her peers: “Whatever your disability is, it shouldn’t stop you from doing. Do it with all your mind and make sure you stand out, because there is ability in disability.”

Mrs Bolarin is the founder of the Jibore Foundation, which has over the years empowered numerous persons with disabilities through skill-training in different areas and by providing educational scholarships to blind and deaf students.

Also honoured alongside were Commissioner for Social Development Nna Fatimmah, Hon. Bello Yinusa Oniboki ;the Member of the Kwara State House of Assembly for Afon Constituency, Asa LGA, Abdulwahab Kayode Dalegan among others.
