The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has dismissed rumors that Prince Sunday Fagbemi has been replaced as Chairman, describing the reports as “fake news” and “mischievous”. According to Alh. Abdullahi Samari Abubakar, Acting Chairman of the party, Fagbemi is currently out of the country for his annual medical trip and has entrusted him to act on his behalf until his return. He stated:

I read with consternation, the falsehood being deliberately circulated by mischief makers that Prince Sunday Fagbemi has been replaced as APC Chairman in Kwara State.

This is fake news which should be ignored and disregarded by our members and the general public. Prince Fagbemi remains our Chairman; he is only on his usual annual medical trip outside the country. This is a known fact to the Leader of the party in State HE AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, CON.

Prince Fagbemi personally told me as his Deputy to take charge of the party’s affairs until his return to the country. This has been a normal practice whenever he would not be available in the country for medical reasons.

Mischief makers should ply their dirty trade elsewhere. I remain loyal to Prince Fagbemi as well as to the Leader of the Party in the State HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

I call on all loyal APC members and the general public to please ignore the mischief makers.
