The Ifelodun Grassroots Development Initiative has drummed total support for Governor Abdulrazaq, Hon AGF Salaudeen, Hon Rasaq Owolabi and other Kwara APC candidates.

It was contained in a press conference signed by Hon Audu Quddus Oyedele, the chairman of the Ifelodun Grassroot Development Initiative.

Hon Oyedele said the association is a Socio-political and developmental organization in Nigeria’s largest Local Government Area, Ifelodun Local Government Area, added that the organisation have members across the 18 wards in the Local Government who are actively entrenching democratic ideals towards ensuring developmental goals across the nooks and crannies of our Local Government.

Hon Oyedele further said that the association has been advocating for good governance in Ifelodun Local Government between two constituencies and as a core mandate of our organization, noting that we will continually engage various stakeholders, the State Governments, Local Government Authorities, Traditional institutions and the good people of Ifelodun Local Government Area towards ensuring that we take our rightful place in the scheme of things in the State.

He, therefore, revealed the journey of their advocacy and achievement within the last 12 months said we have engaged different stakeholders across the board (political party, religious, ethnic and sociocultural) and one thing was vividly made clear by all the stakeholders which are their tremendous satisfaction with the developmental strides of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq and notably, the representative prowess of both Hon. AGF Salahudeen and Hon. Rasaq Owolabi at the Kwara State House of Assembly.

Without Gainsaying, we have examined and fact-checked the legacies and achievements of the Governor and the two representatives from Ifelodun LGA. The outcome of our examination and investigation is beyond overwhelming as no Governor in the history of the state has massively invested in the Local Government, not even when a son of the Local Government was once a Governor in the state. We, therefore, challenge, anyone, group, organization or institution to make clarifications to the contrary.

Not only has the Governor succeeded in delivering Massive developmental strides in the Local Government, but the two Members of the House of Assembly representing Ifelodun Local Government (Omupo and Share/Okeode state constituencies) have also both performed far beyond expectations and members of the constituencies have not witnessed such representation in this political dispensation since the fourth Republic.

It is sad to note that, Omupo state Constituency once had her Representative as the Speaker of the House and we make bold to say that his four years as Speaker was mere waste and a “stroll in the park” for constituents of Omupo and Ifelodun in terms of Representative Governance. It is quite ridiculous and shameful to note that such an individual who couldn’t empower his constituents or even facilitate the construction of a manual borehole for his hometown while he held sway as Honourable and Speaker is now the Chairman of a group of Lilliputians that have presented themselves as saviours but in actual terms, they are devourers within the vine.

Without much ado and needless revisionism as we have laid our hands on the ploy and never shall we have any cause to look back.

It is on this note that the Ifelodun Grassroot Development Initiative having conferred with the structured leadership in the Organization has resolved to re-echo the support of the people of Ifelodun Local Government Area for the Re-election of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq as Governor, Hon. Ganiyu Folabi Salahudeen as Member representing Omupo State Constituency and Hon. Rasaq Owolabi as Member Representing Share/Okeode State Constituency.

We have done this in good fate for the development of our Constituencies and Local Government even as major leaders of the major Opposition parties in the Local Government have all resolved to support the tickets of the All Progressives Congress at the March 18 Polls.
