37 Graduate as Ilorin College of Health Technology holds Inaugural Convocation Ceremony

On October 26, 2024, the Ilorin College of Health Technology held its inaugural convocation ceremony, celebrating the graduation of 37 students from the  National Diploma (ND) program in Community Health Studies.

The ceremony was officiated by Alhaji Abdullahi A. Muhammad, the Acting Provost, who welcomed distinguished guests, family members, and graduating students. In his address, he praised the graduates for their dedication and perseverance, emphasizing the value of lifelong learning and ethical practice in their future careers. “You are now ambassadors of this institution,” he stated, urging graduates to use their skills responsibly and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Abdullahi Gbemisola was awarded the Pioneer Best Graduating Student, in recognition of her academic excellence, Suliyat received a cash award of 40,000 Naira for her outstanding performance, while two other graduates were awarded 20,000 Naira each for their achievements.

She delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on the challenges and achievements of her academic journey. She expressed gratitude to parents and guardians for their unwavering support. “Graduation is a time of reflection and anticipation,” she remarked, encouraging her peers to embrace the future with optimism and determination.

 

The representative of the Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, also addressed the attendees, ably represented by the Senior Executive on Innovation and Technology, Ishola Kayode, the governor sent a message of commitment to the advancement of education, particularly in the health sector. Kayode highlighted recent efforts to improve healthcare and education in the state, assuring the audience that the administration would continue to invest in initiatives that support and strengthen healthcare services and education in Kwara. His speech underscored the government’s recognition of the essential role health professionals play in society.

The event also included a goodwill message from Alhaji Salihu Aminu, representing the Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union (IEDPU). Alhaji Aminu praised the college’s dedication to community health, acknowledging its role in preparing skilled professionals who could address local health challenges. He encouraged the graduates to use their knowledge to impact society positively, emphasizing the importance of community service.
