The Palace of the Olusin of Ijara-Isin wishes to address a misleading photograph that has been circulated within Kwara South WhatsApp groups on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The image features a prominent king alongside Senator Saliu Mustapha (the Turaki of Ilorin), with a caption falsely identifying the king as Oba Ademola Julius Ajibola, the Olusin of Ijara-Isin, and claiming he visited the Turaki at the National Assembly.
According to a statement by the Ijara-Isin Palace:
“For clarity and to set the record straight, we would like to emphasize that the individual in the photograph is not the Olusin of Ijara-Isin. Furthermore, it is important to note that Oba Ademola Julius Ajibola has never visited the National Assembly for any official capacity or reason. Both Oba Julius and Senator Mustapha are esteemed members of the Kwara community who have contributed immensely to the development of the state, and it is disheartening to see misinformation being spread by individuals with malicious intent. We urge everyone to refrain from disseminating false news and to verify the authenticity of such claims before sharing them.
*We warn agents of misinformation to stop fanning the ember of crisis.” The statement concluded.
