…pledges Focus on SDGs 4 and 8, Aims for Lasting Impact”
Formerly known as Kwara Youth Circle, the leading youth advocacy organization has embarked on a global transformation, rebranding itself as Youth Circle for Social Development. Since its inception in 2020, the organization has been dedicated to social and community development initiatives in Kwara State.
In a recent press statement, Director Mahmood Abdullahi Loke highlighted the organization’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of youth in Kwara State. However, recognizing the need to extend their impact beyond regional borders, the organization has decided to expand its reach globally while still maintaining its focus on Kwara.
One of the primary reasons for the name change was to dispel any misconceptions about the organization’s affiliation with politics, as the name “Kwara” was often associated with the state’s political landscape.
Moreover, Youth Circle for Social Development announced a strategic shift in its annual activities, placing a significant emphasis on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 8. SDG 4, which focuses on Quality Education, and SDG 8, which aims for Decent Work and Economic Growth, are seen as interconnected goals. Recognizing this interdependence, the organization aims to address both goals simultaneously.
With a renewed focus on leveraging technology as a tool for education and skills development, Youth Circle for Social Development aims to empower youth to become self-reliant and job-ready. By fostering digital literacy and providing access to skill-building opportunities, the organization seeks to equip the next generation with the necessary tools to compete on a global scale.
“Our mission is to cultivate a generation of empowered youth who can thrive in today’s dynamic world,” emphasized Director Mahmood Abdullahi Loke. Through innovative initiatives and strategic partnerships, Youth Circle for Social Development is poised to make a lasting impact on youth empowerment and community development, both locally and globally.
