The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, and his Edu Local Government counterpart, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, have reiterated their commitment to fostering peace between the communities of Share and Tsaragi, who are involved in a longstanding land dispute.

During a working Tour held yesterday, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf urged both communities to remain calm, emphasizing the need for a lasting resolution. “It’s high time we addressed this issue to achieve a permanent solution,” he stated.

“These communities have suffered greatly in the past, with lives lost due to these clashes. We must allow peace to reign.”

Hon. Abdullahi Bello, Chairman of Edu Local Government, echoed this sentiment, stressing that unity between Share and Tsaragi is essential for regional development. “Share and Tsaragi are one; we must stay united to develop our community. Frequent communal crises harm the economic stability of our region,” he said.

The chairmen collectively decided that both communities should temporarily vacate the disputed land to prevent further conflict. They also called on security operatives to maintain order and ensure peace is upheld.

Representing the Tsaragi community, Mallam Abubakar Abdullahi, the Serikin Gabas of Tsaragi, expressed gratitude to the chairmen for their peace-building efforts, pledging full cooperation from the Nupe community.

Similarly, Chief Adedotun Philip, the Aniyaloye of Share land, commended the chairmen’s initiative and promised the Share community’s compliance with the chairmen’s directives.

The peace tour was attended by The Chairman of Patigi Local Government, Hon. Ahmed Adam Rufai, representatives of the Olupako of Shaare and Emir of Tsaragi, the Magaji of Ikanje, security operatives, and council members from both Ifelodun and Edu Local Governments
