The Igbomina Imperial Social Club (IISC), led by its Ba’ale, Ba’ale Salawu Olumide, alongside some of the members of the Club, paid a familiarisation visit to the National President of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Sir Bisi Fakayode, to formally identify with the national leadership and appreciate the commendable start of his administration.

During the visit, the Club presented its vision and objectives, noting that the Igbomina Imperial Social Club was inaugurated on 24th December, 2024 which marks it first year on the 24th December, 2025 to promote, preserve, and protect the cultural identity of the Igbomina people, while contributing to the overall development of Igbomina land through unity and purposeful socialisation.

The Ba’ale stated that the visit was to congratulate the National President, appreciate the progress recorded so far, and seek formal recognition and acceptance of the Club as a partner within the larger Omo Ibile Igbomina family.

He further highlighted the Club’s achievements within its short period of existence, including its consistent practice appreciating and congratulating Igbomina sons and daughters-both at home and in the diaspora-who have attained notable milestones across fields of life be it politics, religion, and other professional fields, irrespective of political or religious affiliations.

In their contributions, members of the Club also emphasized the need for unity among Igbomina people and the importance of standing up for the rights and interests of Igbomina indigenes wherever necessary.

They equally identified key areas of opportunity that could be explored for the benefit and advancement of people and extension Igbomina land.

In his response, the National President, Sir Bisi Fakayode, expressed deep appreciation to the delegation, particularly the Ba’ale and the women who accompanied the group. He thanked God for the wisdom behind the formation of the Club, describing it as a positive signal of a brighter future for Igbomina land.

He encouraged members to remain committed to unity and legacy-building, noting that today’s achievements in Igbomina land are the results of efforts laid by successive leaderships of Omo Ibile Igbomina.

The President also shared his experience before accepting the role, acknowledging that despite concerns about the demands of the office, he embraced the responsibility with full dedication, inspired largely by the encouragement of the youth.

He advised the Club to work collaboratively with other Igbomina groups towards making Igbomina House a vibrant cultural hub, to develop a database of unemployed and underemployed Igbomina sons and daughters, to mobilize more Igbomina women into active participation, and to uphold mutual respect among members.

He concluded by informing the delegation of ongoing efforts by the national body towards the development of an official website that will serve as a platform for sharing Igbomina activities and projecting Igbomina culture and heritage globally.

Speaking on behalf of the Club, Mr. Oyinloye Kehindé, who double as President of the Igbomina Youth Assembly, appreciated the National President for granting the audience and prayed for God’s continued guidance and strength in his leadership.
