The Kwara Progressives Media Organization (KPMO) strongly condemns the unfounded and malicious statement issued by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State regarding the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP). The PDP’s attempt to tarnish the reputation of a program designed to uplift the lives of Kwarans is nothing but a desperate act of frustration from a party that has repeatedly failed to gain the trust of the people.
Since its establishment under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, KWASSIP has diligently served the interests of all Kwarans. From the tenure of its pioneer General Manager to the current General Manager, Dr. Tejidini Olayinka, the program has stayed true to its mission of empowering the most vulnerable segments of society. Dr. Tejidini, a seasoned professional, has been a perfect match for the position, ensuring that KWASSIP continues to deliver impactful results without any form of political bias.
KWASSIP’s initiatives, such as *Kwarapreneur 1.0 to 5.0*, have been exemplary in their execution. The selection process for these programs has been open, transparent, and inclusive of all Kwarans. Even during the ongoing Kwarapreneur 5.0 pitching process, opposition members were selected without discrimination. KPMO can confirm that in previous editions, prominent members of opposition parties, including individuals actively critical of the governor, benefited from the scheme. Notably, during *Kwarapreneur 1.0*, one of the top beneficiaries who received the highest loan of 3 million naira was a known opposition member.
This demonstrates KWASSIP’s commitment to impartiality and fairness, ensuring that political affiliation has never been a factor in selecting beneficiaries. From empowering small business owners through cash transfers to supporting market women, transporters, and petty traders, KWASSIP has provided meaningful financial support to Kwarans from all walks of life.
All programs under KWASSIP, including the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme, SME Cash Support, Market Women Cash Support, and Transporters Cash Support, have followed strict processes in identifying deserving beneficiaries. These efforts align with the governor’s #KwaraForAll vision, with the agency acting as a vehicle for sustainable development. KWASSIP’s actions reflect the core values of good governance that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has championed since his assumption of office.
The PDP’s claim that KWASSIP is being used as a partisan tool is nothing more than daydreaming from a party still struggling to recover from its repeated rejection by the people of Kwara. Kwarans have spoken clearly at the polls, reaffirming their confidence in Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership. The governor remains committed to uplifting the lives of all citizens without favoritism. KWASSIP has proven this commitment by focusing on results, not rhetoric.
It is regrettable that the PDP has resorted to petty politicking, attempting to cast baseless aspersions on a program that has become a lifeline for many Kwarans. The party’s fixation on election results and misguided allegations only highlight its desperation and irrelevance in the political landscape.
KWASSIP is for the benefit of all Kwarans, irrespective of political affiliation. The achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the tireless efforts of the KWASSIP GM, Dr. Tejidini Olayinka reflect the administration’s unwavering dedication to service and progress. We urge the people of Kwara to disregard the PDP’s baseless claims and continue to support the governor’s people-centered initiatives.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will not be distracted by the antics of a party obsessed with sowing discord. Under his leadership, KWASSIP will continue to serve the interests of the people, empowering more citizens and fostering sustainable development across the state.
