Kwara 2023: APYF organizes 2 days Intra-party pre-primary debate for aspirants across 16 local government

All Progressive Youth Forum (APYF) in conjunction with Progressive Nation Initiative (PNI) have organized 2 days maiden edition of Intra-party pre-primary debate for all aspirants under the canopy of All Progressive Congress (APC) at Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), opposite St. Anthony School, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The interactive discussion was held yesterday and today which the 1st day were for all aspirants aspiring for the seat of Kwara House of Assembly while the 2nd day were for the aspirants aspiring for the position of senates and National House of Representatives.

The discussion was held with sole aim of interacting with aspirants in order to know why they are aspiring for the position, what are their duties for the position they are aspiring for and what do they have for the constituents they want to represent when they get elected?.

The Prudent Watch had a short interview with some aspirants after the debate to know how interesting the program is and what do they have for their fellow aspirants and their good message for the people of their constituent.

Speaking with Newsmen, the host Mr. Akpem Michael Neutor, Editor-in-chief of Campus Gist Paper and also the CEO/MD of Blaise Micheal’s concept who was the moderator in an event and indeed he piloted the program very well and everything went smoothly without any commotion or misunderstanding among the invited aspirants. Saying that this maiden edition of APC intra-party pre-primary debate is exceptional and also the first of its kind in the history of kwara state and Nigeria at large.

He added that after this intra-party pre-primary debate there will be an inter-party debate between all the political parties in the state after they cleared by INEC.

Speaking with the newsmen, the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Ibrahim Yahya Oloriegbe said that within 3 years of representing the constituency, I have delivered more than expected to the people of my constituents and that is enough to speak for me in the forthcoming party primary and general election.

He added that comparing the past administration with the present one is like comparing sleeping with death, means the present administration is more and much better than the past.

A Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Pharm. Sadiq Umar urge the people of his constituents to reelect more improvement, added that there is still more development to be done for the people so that the party will have a better candidate come to the 2023 general election.

Another aspirant Ilorin East /Ilorin South, Dr Afeez Abolore Alabi urge delegates and constituents to select integrity candidate for better representation at the green chamber come 2023, I have needed qualities and capacities to drive the people of my communities to next level and new development, he said.

Aspirants from Isin /Ekiti/Irepodun/Oke-Ero federal constituency, Dr Toba Oloyede, Barr. Abdukareem Abiola Jagunlabi and Hon. Kayode Bankole impelled the voters not to go for token amount of money that won’t last longer and choose wrong candidate that good and responsible representntation will last for four years and even forever.

Earlier aspirant for Ilorin East/South federal constituency, Hajia Saadatu Modibo Kawu in her interview with newsmen pleaded to party leadership to have gender balance and she promised good legislative representation, together we must bring good things to our constituency, she said.

An aspirant for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Abdulwaheed Jimmy Idiagbon clarifies his faith, saying bad eggs in the party calling him Christian which is not, I am a Muslim, he said.

Senators in attendance were Sen. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, incubent and aspirant for Kwara Central Senatorial district; Sen. Sadiq Umar Sulieman, incumbent and aspirant for Kwara North senatorial district; and Sen. Ajadi Sulaiman Makanjuola, aspirant for kwara South senatorial district.

House of Representatives in attendance were Hajia Saadatu Madibo Kawu, aspirant to represent Ilorin East/South Federal constituency; Dr. AbdulamAfeez Abolore Alabi, aspirant to represent Ilorin East/South Federal constituency; Hon. Abdulwaheed Oluwanishola Jimmy Idiagbon, aspirant to represent Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency; Dr. Toba Oloyede, aspirant to represent Ekiti/Isin/oke-ero/Irepodun Federal constituency; and Dr. Afeez Abolore, aspirant to represent Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency.

House of Assembly aspirants, Barr. Nasiru Arisekola Sulaiman, aspirant to represent Share/Oke-Ode constituency; Hajia Rukayat Shittu, aspirant to represent Owode Onire Constituency; Hon. Sulaiman Abdullahi Belle, aspirant to represent Edu constituency; Hajia Mariam Yusuf Aladi, aspirant to represent Ilorin South Constituency; Hon Abubakar Muhammad, aspirant to represent Edu constituency; and Comr. Omu-Iyadun Oladimeji Ahmed, aspirant to represent Shawo constituency were also in attendance.
