On the pressing issue of political representation, Prince Adebara reaffirmed the earnest demand for the Kwara North region to produce the next governor of Kwara State. He highlighted that Moro Local Government, being part of Kwara North Senatorial District, must actively seek its rightful political benefits. He stressed that securing the governorship ticket for Kwara North would not only be a victory for the region but would also reinforce the political strength of Moro Local Government, ensuring the possibility of securing at least one or two National Assembly seats in 2027.
During an Interview, Hon. Mashood Alaka, Special Adviser to the Kwara State Governor on Party Affairs, highlighted the need for equity, justice, and fairness in Kwara politics. He stated that by 2027, Kwara Central would have produced a governor for 20 years, Kwara South for eight years, while Kwara North has yet to produce a governor. “We are praying for Almighty God to grant Kwara North the governorship seat in 2027. We appeal to our brothers and sisters in Kwara Central and South to see us as one Kwara and support our quest for equity,” he said.
Dr. Bolaji Afolabi, a major stakeholder in APC Kwara North from Shao Ward, emphasized that the prayer session was also a way of appreciating President Tinubu for his leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda. He reiterated the call for power rotation, stressing that Moro Local Government has been historically marginalized in Kwara North’s representation at the National Assembly. “Since 1999, Moro has not produced a senator or a House of Representatives member. As we push for the Kwara North governorship, we must also ensure that Moro is represented in the National Assembly,” he asserted.
