In the annals of Kwara State’s political and social history, few names resonate with the same reverence as Barrister Nasiru Arisekola Suleiman.
A stalwart lawyer, solicitor, advocate, and progressive political figure, he has distinguished himself as a beacon of justice, integrity, and development within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
An indigene of Share community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Barrister Nasiru’s journey has been defined by his unwavering commitment to public service and the empowerment of his people.
Drawing from his rich cultural heritage and a strong sense of community, he has consistently championed the cause of justice, accountability, and opportunity for his constituency and beyond.
As a seasoned lawyer, Barrister Nasiru has built a thriving legal career anchored on fairness, diligence, and respect for the rule of law.
Through his practice, he has represented individuals, organizations, and communities with unmatched dedication, leaving a lasting imprint on Kwara State’s legal landscape. His reputation for competence and credibility is widely acknowledged, reflecting his strong belief that justice must always serve the people.
Competence is the hallmark of his leadership. On 18th November 2018, Barrister Femi Ola-Olu published a statement on the Facebook page of Barrister Nasiru Arisekola Suleiman (“It’s Time For Progress”), where he insightfully testified:
“I worked with Barr. Nasiru Arisekola Suleiman during my university days when he served as President of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) ABU Chapter, 2011/2012.
His ability to coordinate, imbue accountability, and unite a previously scattered association remains a model of inclusive leadership.”
Under his leadership, the student body thrived. Financial prudence, responsibility, and transparency became guiding principles.
Despite unfounded petitions alleging financial impropriety, Barrister Nasiru’s courage and selflessness shone through. He personally attended panels, defended his team, and stood in the gap to protect their integrity. His mantra was simple yet powerful: “We came to serve, not to steal.”
This experience remains a testament to his competence, accountability, and integrity—qualities desperately needed in today’s governance.
As an active and respected member of the APC, Barrister Nasiru embodies the values of progressivism.
He advocates for policies that prioritize the welfare of the people, focusing on employment generation, youth empowerment, and community development.
Through his influence, he has secured numerous employment opportunities for Share indigenes and other Kwara youths, directly tackling poverty and unemployment.
His leadership style is people-centered: he listens, builds consensus, and delivers results. He is admired for being accessible, empathetic, and selfless, placing the needs of his people above personal interest.
Barrister Nasiru represents a new wave of leadership rooted in competence rather than empty popularity. As Barrister Femi Ola-Olu eloquently captured in that 2018 statement:
“With him, I experienced quality, inclusive, and competent leadership; he is accessible, accountable, and responsible… we deserve an all-inclusive leadership, someone who is interested in competently representing us and not after his pocket.”
Indeed, his story is one of courage, justice, and service. He has proven to be a defender of rights, a unifier of people, and a role model to the next generation of leaders.
His achievements in law, politics, and community development are a living testament to his belief that leadership is about service, not self-interest.
Barrister Nasiru Arisekola Suleiman stands today as a shining star in Kwara State’s APC a lawyer of excellence, a progressive politician, and above all, a competent and selfless leader. His contributions to law, student leadership, employment creation, and community progress reflect a life devoted to uplifting others.
As Kwara State and Nigeria at large look to the future, his story inspires hope: the hope that integrity, competence, and service can truly transform society.
