In politics, loyalty is often tested when personal ambitions are not realized. It is easy to remain committed when things go your way, but true character is revealed when they do not. That is why the conduct of Alhaji (Chief) Abdulhakeem Kayode Adebiyi Ojokure deserves recognition.
At a time when some aspirants chose to express disappointment in ways that threatened party unity because their personal ambitions were not fulfilled, Chief Kure took a different path. He remained calm, peaceful, and unwavering in his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Both online and offline, he consistently encouraged his supporters and associates to stay loyal to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the party leadership, and the APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu Danladi.
Chief Kure has built a reputation that extends beyond Kwara State. He is widely known as a philanthropist, humanitarian, and dependable party man whose support for the APC has never been based on personal gain.
His office at his filling station in Offa has become a place where party members seek assistance, advice, and encouragement, especially when they are unable to reach elected representatives. Many beneficiaries can testify to his generosity and willingness to help without expecting anything in return.
Over the years, he has invested his time, resources, and energy into the growth of the party.
Despite his popularity, grassroots acceptance, and significant contributions, he did not secure the APC ticket to represent the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency. Yet, not once did he publicly attack the party or its leadership. Instead, he chose the path of maturity, discipline, and loyalty.
That is the kind of politics that strengthens institutions and inspires confidence. Chief Kure has shown that commitment to a political party should not depend solely on personal success. His actions reflect a belief that the collective interest of the party is greater than individual ambition.
For many of us, Chief Abdulhakeem Kayode Adebiyi Ojokure remains a shining example of what genuine loyalty, humility, and service should look like in politics. Personal ambitions may come and go, but integrity and steadfastness leave a lasting legacy.
