The Junior Chamber International Nigeria, Bayero University Kano chapter (JCIN-BUK) has on Saturday dated 10th June 2023 held a first-ever Public Speaking competition themed “Youth, Opportunity, Unity Collaboration and Networking (YOUCAN) Changing the Nigerian Youth Narrative for the Future” on Google Meet.
This is coming barely after the bonafide members of JCIN-BUK divided themselves into three family structures named Salamatu’s family, Oliver’s family and Elochukwu’s family.
The family which was created in order to have a cordial relationship as well as to come up with something uniquely creative that will be of great benefit to each family. Moreover, each family also has their coordinator and other position such as head of the family, first-born, and last-born.
Thereafter, the committee organized a public speaking competition where a member from each family structure represents their team in the contest. The contestants from each team are Abdullahi Sekina from Salamatu’s family, Nana Khadijah Ibrahim from Oliver’s family and Isiwat Oyiza Musa from Elochukwu’s family.
After the presentation from each contestant, the judges, JCIN Amb Ayodeji Akinwade and JCIN Amb Ruth Sameeha Appiah Idowu however, in line with the earlier set rules and regulations reviewed the speech presented by the contestants and announced the result of the competition to the audience.
The announcement of results goes thus; the first position is Nana Khadijah Ibrahim from Team Oliver, the second position goes to Abdullahi Sekina from Team Salamatu, while Isiwat Oyiza Musa from Team Elochukwu came out third and the prize was given to them.
High calibres in attendance were CVC Northwest, Fatima Badaru; EA to the collegiate Chairperson, Nasir Hassan Bello; 2022 President of JCIN-ABU, Mohammed Sani; 2023 President of JCIN-ABU, Afeez Abisoye; 2022 President of JCIN-NSUK, Hamza, 2023 VP of JCIN-NSUK, Aliyu Umar Onona, and both JCIN-BUK BODs and members.
