As the forthcoming Local Government Election in Kwara State approaches, scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Ilorin Emirate for Unity and Development Initiative (IEUDI), passionately appeals to all Kwarans to embrace peace and reject violence throughout this electoral process. In a press release signed by the National President Alh. Moshood Lekan Salau and the National Secretary Hon. AbdulSalam AbdulRauph Abdullahi, IEUDI emphasized that it is essential that we exercise our fundamental right to vote in an atmosphere of calm and mutual respect, allowing peace to reign in our communities.

This message is addressed to all stakeholders involved in the election process, including political parties, citizens, security personnel, and the Kwara Independent State Electoral Commission (KWAISEC). We urge all parties to carry out their duties with the utmost decorum and professionalism. Security forces must ensure that voters are protected, while KWAISEC must guarantee that the process is free, fair, and transparent.

We call upon the electorate to exercise their right to vote freely, without fear of intimidation or coercion. Every voter should be afforded a level playing field, as voting is not only a right but a civic responsibility that empowers citizens to choose their leaders.

At the conclusion of the election, we encourage all to respect the outcome. Whoever emerges victorious should be celebrated with grace and humility, while other candidates should be respected for their efforts. It is important to remember that after the election, governance begins—a task that requires unity and focus to address the challenges we all face during these difficult times in the country.

To the successful candidates, we remind you of the promises made during your campaigns. It is your duty to deliver on these promises and serve the people of your Local Government with dedication and integrity.

In conclusion, we wish for a free, fair, and peaceful election. May this process strengthen our democracy and foster development for all Kwarans.
