There is a growing wave of support across the seven Local Government Areas of Kwara South—Ekiti, Ifelodun, Oke-Ero, Offa, Oyun, Isin, and Irepodun as youth groups, stakeholders, party leaders, and community influencers continue to line up behind the senatorial aspiration of Hon. (Barr.) Gbenga Peter Makanjuola ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Across the district, the message remains consistent: Kwara South needs an experienced, accessible, and people-oriented leader who understands the challenges of the people and possesses the capacity to effectively represent their interests at the National Assembly.

Beyond the growing support from youth groups and grassroots organizations, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola has also continued to enjoy wide acceptability among members of the Kwara South Elders Caucus, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Local Government Executives, women groups, political stakeholders, and opinion leaders across the seven Local Government Areas of Kwara South.

Political observers and stakeholders have described the recently concluded engagements and consultations by Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola across the district as a clear demonstration of his grassroots appeal, political influence, and long-standing relationship with the people.

From meetings with party elders and APC stakeholders to engagements with youth and women groups, ward leaders, Local Government executives, and community mobilizers, the reception and response have remained overwhelmingly positive.

At virtually every point of interaction, the same testimonies continue to resonate about Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola his humility, accessibility, track records in public office, responsiveness to constituents’ needs, fear of God, and genuine commitment to service.

In Ekiti Local Government, Chairman of Ekiti Youth Voices, Amb. Anjorin Babatunde, said the group’s support is rooted in Makanjuola’s proven track record and accessibility. According to him, the district needs someone who has been tested and can deliver results without a learning curve.

From Ifelodun, Coordinator of the Ifelodun Progressive Youth Forum, Issa Jubril Babatunde, described Makanjuola as a leader who has remained consistently connected to the grassroots.

He noted that his experience in the House of Representatives and public service gives him the understanding and competence needed to attract meaningful development to Kwara South.

In Oke-Ero, Chairman of the Youth Political Group, Alhaji Raji Kunle Abdulrahaman, stated that Makanjuola represents a bridge between the people and government, stressing that his steady involvement in public affairs has earned him credibility and trust.

Speaking from Offa, leaders of the Offa Rising Youth Coalition described their endorsement as a reflection of the people’s desire for responsive and purposeful leadership.

They noted that Makanjuola understands the realities facing the people and has consistently demonstrated commitment to empowerment and development.

In Oyun Local Government, Chairman of Oyun Vanguard, Mr. Adeolu Oyinlade, said the aspiration has reignited hope among young people and stakeholders who desire quality representation and greater opportunities for the district.

From Isin, Chairman of the Isin Progressive Political Forum, Comrade Sunday Babayomi, JP, explained that their decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders across the Local Government.

According to him, Kwara South needs a leader with experience, connections, and political understanding qualities he believes Makanjuola clearly possesses.

In Irepodun Local Government, Coordinator of the Grassroot Movement, Comrade (Prince) Olu Abioye, described Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola as a long-standing grassroots politician whose consistent engagement with the people over the years has earned him respect, acceptance, and widespread support.

The groups collectively called on party leaders, stakeholders, political office holders, and the general public across Kwara South to support the aspiration of Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola, describing it as an opportunity to secure stronger representation, inclusive leadership, and meaningful development for the district.

They also pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts across wards and communities in preparation for his emergence as APC flagbearer in the Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.

Many political observers have further pointed to one unique quality that distinguishes Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola from many politicians within and outside Kwara State.

According to them, he remains perhaps the only known politician in Kwara State and notably in Nigeria who, after completing his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, returned to his Federal Constituency simply to appreciate the people and say:

“Thank you for sending me to Abuja to represent you.”

To many supporters, that singular act reflects humility, gratitude, accountability, and genuine respect for the people qualities they believe are rare in today’s political space.

As political momentum continues to build across Kwara South, stakeholders insist that the growing endorsements and acceptance of Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola reflect a wider yearning for experienced, accessible, and people-focused leadership capable of giving Kwara South a stronger voice at the National Assembly.
